( A WEEK OF P365! AND CUT, TOO! )

Grandma Amy ("Mimi" - they started trying to call her "May-mee" and it's devolved into Mimi at this point) came over today after work to play. Teresa was pleased to have a new puzzle partner.

It's strange to me how the girls have always been very aware of how jewelry is worn, considering I wear approximately none these days. They had the best time in the world sitting on my bed and going through my old shoebox full of costume jewelry. I was just trying to distract them long enough to get some pants on to go to Walgreens. (Liana left, Teresa right)

Poor Kevin. He goes to work/school all day and then comes home and codes all night. And to make matters worse, his dumb arsehole of a wife posts pictures of him shirtless on the internets. GAWD.

STFU, UH AM CONCENTRATING BISHES.

O HAI THAR, internet. Don't mind my dinosaur child; she's just entertaining her sister, a fellow door-sucking partner in crime.
(Srsly, Liana?)

We (me, Kevin, the girls, and all three of the grandparents who live in Memphis) went to a botanical gardens-esque place for pictures and fun today. I have about a billion things to post in consequence, but I so rarely have nice pictures of me and the girls together, SO THURR. Liana is handing me lots of small rocks and dirt. She seemed very proud of these gifts. Teresa is playing with a bracelet I gave her earlier to distract her from the fact that I was putting a bow in her hair (OMFG, right?).

Ah Liana, you're right - Chik-fil-a is SERIOUS BUSINESS.

It rained most of the day today; consequently, the girls were stir-crazy about an hour before bedtime because they're pretty used to going outside every day lately. So I put on their raincoats and out we went (it wasn't actually raining by the time we went outside, but hey, better safe and adorable than... not). Teresa likes to hoist the hose across her shoulders like this and take it to new places in the yard. I think she's watched our grouchy neighbor perform similar bear-esque gardening tasks on a few too many occasions. I love those muddy little knees.
(For those of you who do not follow my personal journal: my purse was stolen the day after my last 365 post, and with it my poor Kodak Easy Share. I have finally sold enough things to afford a new camera; it's a digital SLR and I am still learning how to use it, so go easy on me. I'm going to pick up numbering these where I left off.)

I've been taking the girls out in the back yard and leaving the door open because the weather is perfect for cooling the house down without needing to turn on the air at the moment. Here Teresa has taken the opportunity to run back inside and fetch her "BLANK-EEE" and is very proudly displaying the beloved object outside/rejoicing in how very clever she is.

Unfortunately, my children have figured out how to turn the TV on/adjust it to the channel they desire by themselves. Here we have Teresa tuning into Daddy's paused game of Mario from yesterday and turning the volume all the way up so she can groove to those sweet computer-blippin' jams (our television is usually situated at a volume level around, say, 25). They both get really excited about Mario; they start bouncing and yelling "MAH-EE MO!" if Kevin goes near a controller (they know Mommy doesn't play video games; it's the one peice of the Nerd Trifecta pie I am lacking).

O HAI WALGREENS, HOW BOUT YOU GIVE ME MUH DAMN MEDICINE SO I DON'T HAVE TO GO INTO UR BATHROOM AND TAKE VULGAR PICTURES IN UR MIRROR BECAUSE I'M UH MAD PUPPY?
For the record, I DID argue with enough people that I finally got my prescription filled. Which is totally a big deal for me because I'm super non-confrontational, especially with strangers. And yes, that is actually the bathroom at Walgreens, lulz.

I LOL'ed pretty hard when I saw this picture. Of all the adorable ones I took at the park today, I have to say that Teresa with her pseudo-evil-supervillain raised eyebrow and flying kick-ass power-pose WINS.
"UH WILL DEFEAT YEW WITH TEH POWER OF MUH SUPER-STRENGTH POOP SWINGIN' AND MUH ABILITY TO CLEAR A ROOM WIFF UH SINGLE POOT; WHAR IS YER PRECIOUS SOOPERMAN NAOW??"

It got REALLY nice outside today (again, WTF: blizzard of less than a week ago to this?). We played in the back yard after the girls got out of MDO because they didn't nap today and I didn't want to drag them far from home to a park or anything lest the inevitable meltdowns ensue before we could leave. Liana is showing off one of the balls I bought them for Valentine's Day (Liana's is pink with butterflies; Teresa's is green with blue dinosaurs).
She's very particular about things that are "hers", but luckily that list is short. She has HER ball, HER nighttime blanket, and HER sippy cup of the day (child seriously loses it if Teresa dares take a sip out of HER cup). Other than that, she's very laid-back about sharing everything. Silly Na Na.

I heart getting fabric in the mail - like WHOA. Part of this will soon be the outtermost layer of a diaper. No word on where the rest is going yet.

MUH POOR LIANA BB :( She has an ear infection, a sinus infection, and a diaper rash so bizarre (Teresa has this too) that even the pediatrician is baffled. I AM SICK OF BATTLING THIS DIAPER RASH. He prescriped some miracle all-purpose cream, and if that doesn't clear them up then we have to go to a freaking dermatologist. At least she had the waiting room all to herself to play (slash not be coughed on by other kids) before she was tortured with bloodwork and OMFG somebody looking in her EEEEEEARS.
Unfortunately, my children have inherited my ability to acquire insane one-in-a-million health problems. Sorry, bbgurls.

So remember me complaining about how I didn't want to OMFG DO ANYTHIIIING on Monday? I ended up getting very ambitious and taking the girls to our local (HUGE) public library. There was this sweet kid there who pulled up chairs for both of the girls so they could watch him play on the computer when they ran up acting interested; he even found sites with things he thought they would like (music, etc.). Then he went to sit at a table to read and they followed him there too, ha!
He seemed really excited that babies liked him; here he has just given Teresa (right) his book because she was asking politely. We had a good time with our new little friend; he even took a few pictures of me with the babies because he wanted to see how my camera worked. SRSLY, cutest nine-year-old EVAR.
(His mom was studying a few tables away; she was also very sweet. I HEART LIBRARIES.)

I actually fought the storm Saturday evening for this, but I didn't get a chance to really admire it until the next day. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY SHOPPING FIND, INTERNETS: this dress/onesie/hat sat was a GUESS piece and originally ridiculously expensive. It was the last one in the store and had been marked down to $17 when I found it. Dillards happened to be having a 50% off clearance items sale, so I got this for like $9. And put it on a gift card. Which = FREE.
And I think it's adorable, so all you plaid haters can SHOVE IT.

This was taken not long after it started snowing Saturday (you know, before the part where it became totally UNfun). I love Liana's thrilled little face :)

On our way out to the car to go to the gym this afternoon, Teresa forced me to stop so she could investigate the tree next to our door. She loves trees and leaves and plants in general (she calls all plants "tree", haha).
